Organ Building Courtyard

Formerly housed the world’s largest musical instrument. A Wurlitzer Stalacpipe Organ, the Opus 998 model. Assembly took nearly a year to complete and required a 50 horsepower engine in order to operate properly. Transported from New York by rail train, twelve train cars were needed for the job! This organ instrument could be heard from five to seven miles away and was no longer of service as of November 2008.
